Once: Yarveya’s first album about the moments that change everything

The album introduces Yar and Veya through the structure of the songs rather than a formal biography. Across the first four tracks, the male and female voices share one dramatic space: they meet, disagree, respond and remember the same event differently.

Two solo songs change the distance. Ещё утро не скоро belongs to Veya, while Нам другого не суждено belongs to Yar. The closing track, Мне грустно на тебя смотреть, brings the voices together again and returns the album to dialogue.

Here, “once” is an ordinary day that later reveals itself as a boundary. A meeting, a decision to leave, an attempt to let someone go, traces left behind or a conversation before morning can quietly change everything that follows.

This establishes Yarveya’s territory: songs about people, time, memory, relationships and roads. Russian language, poetic inflection and contemporary situations connect cultural memory with present-day human experience.

Once established the project’s central dramatic method: male and female viewpoints inside one story. The next album, Silver Century, brought that approach to early twentieth-century poetry. Both albums can be found in the VORONOY releases section.
