Where to start

Среди миров, based on Innokenty Annensky’s poem, is a useful starting point for listeners seeking familiar Russian verse in a new musical setting. Yar sings alone, keeping the words and the narrator’s solitude in focus. This is Yarveya’s 2026 recording, distinct from other artists’ settings of the poem.

To hear both voices, choose Любовь, подобная вражде, based on Dmitry Merezhkovsky. Yar and Veya share one scene: intimacy becomes an exchange between two people rather than an abstract theme.

The six songs

Любовь твоя жаждет так много — Maximilian Voloshin. Veya opens the album with a love that keeps asking for more.

Среди миров — Innokenty Annensky. Yar’s solo follows a solitary narrator among many possible worlds.

Любовь, подобная вражде — Dmitry Merezhkovsky. A duet about closeness with the tension of an argument.

Как горько понимать — Elizaveta Dmitrieva. Bitter understanding becomes a separate human situation within the album.

Можно жить с закрытыми глазами — Konstantin Balmont. A song about choosing not to see.

Слова любви — Zinaida Gippius. A closing reflection on words that can be difficult to say in time.

Poems in a present-day setting

Yarveya does not reconstruct early twentieth-century musical life. Contemporary electronic and pop production, male and female voices and live instrumental accents frame the poems as stories about relationships, rather than a survey of a literary period.

Begin with a solo song and a duet, then listen to the full sequence. The change of voice makes the changing point of view easier to hear. Серебряное столетие was released through VORONOY on 19 September 2026. The links below open the album, where all six songs are available.
